ARCH 316 HERITAGE DOCUMENTATION (3 0 3)
COURSE DESCRIPTION/ OBJECTIVES
In ARCH316 the students are expected to get information about the methods of documentation, which is essential for transferring the built heritage of the humanity to the future generations. The methods of, survey, visual documentation and written documentation are introduced to the students via this course.
This course is intended for developing heritage consciousness amongst the students of architecture. Following ARCH315, which was the introductory level course concerning the issues of heritage conservation and architectural restoration, the students are expected to be familiar with the conceps of heritage and heritage conservation, by means of experiencing heritage documentation methods.
COURSE METHOD
The course requires the use of a laptop computer, digital projector and surveying instruments of both manual and digital types.
The course will consist of 3 hours of lecture per week and it will comprise small field studies and discussions on methods of documentation.
COURSE GRADING
"ARCH 234 CONSTRUCTION SYSTEMS II is a non-exam course (Article 29 – 1) of University’s Regulation); therefore grading will be made according to the work performed by the student during the term."
COURSE PARTICIPATION
Full attendance is recommended. The students are required to attend a minimum of 80% of the courses.
